OSAKA –
Kajima Corp. has unveiled the development website of KAJIMA TREE, a roughly 60-meter wood tower being constructed for the International Horticultural Expo that can open in March 2027.
The tower will reuse about 3% of the timber from the Grand Ring, the symbolic wood construction constructed for the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo.
Kajima has integrated a wood damping system into the tower that applies seismic-control expertise developed by way of the development of high-rise buildings.
The system makes use of an interlocking timber construction designed to enhance the tower’s resistance to seismic motion whereas making in depth use of reused wooden.
