Hoosier rocker John Mellencamp is donating an archived assortment of his life and work to Indiana University, IU President Pamela Whitten introduced Friday.
The assortment will embrace authentic inventive works, pictures, devices and different important memorabilia associated to his music, art work, social activism and philanthropy, Whitten stated.
“His assortment will likely be an unbelievable useful resource for arts students and a transparent supply of inspiration to our college students,” Whitten stated.
A sculpture honoring Mellencamp’s creative legacy will likely be commissioned for the Bloomington campus, Whitten stated. The sculpture will sit close to the Fine Arts Plaza on the campus and symbolize the robust connection Mellencamp has to his southern Indiana roots.
