TOKYO, fifth August, 2026 (WAM) — Japan’s Nikkei share common rose greater than three % on Wednesday as AI-related shares jumped to trace their US friends, and buyers scooped up shares with a powerful outlook.
The Nikkei was up 3.16 % to 65,979.02 as of 0101 GMT, whereas the broader Topix rose 1.52 % to 4,022.18.
Chip-testing tools maker Advantest and chip-making tools maker Tokyo Electron rose 8 % and 4 %, respectively.
Of greater than 1,500 shares buying and selling on the Tokyo Stock Exchange’s prime market, 67 % rose, 29 % fell and three % traded flat.
