Japan’s largest enterprise foyer requires lifting foreigner entry ban

Japan’s largest enterprise foyer on Monday referred to as on the federal government to carry the entry ban on nonresident foreigners aimed toward protecting the Omicron variant of the coronavirus at bay and stopping its unfold now that home infections are largely being brought on by the extremely transmissible pressure.

Masakazu Tokura, chief of the Japan Business Federation, stated at an everyday press convention that almost two months of border restrictions have solely hampered home firms from making enterprise journeys and having clean negotiations with international companions on tie-ups, merges and acquisitions.

“It was a good decision to cast a wide net in the first place. But there is no point keeping the measure in place given Omicron has already become the dominant strain” in Japan, stated the top of the enterprise foyer, also called Keidanren.

The anti-coronavirus entry ban has been in place since Nov. 30, the day when Japan confirmed the primary case of the Omicron variant, and the federal government prolonged the measure earlier this month till the top of February.
