To commemorate the a hundred and fiftieth anniversary of its institution, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department has launched a particular exhibition on the Police Museum, showcasing objects resembling Japan’s first wood license from the Meiji period.
Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Public Relations Division Chief commented, “We hope that through this special exhibition, visitors can get a feel for the history of the Metropolitan Police Department.”
The exhibition, which began on February twentieth along side the a hundred and fiftieth anniversary, options over 600 objects that supply a glimpse into the historical past of the Metropolitan Police Department, together with the Meiji and Taisho eras.
On show are objects resembling Japan’s first wood driving license from the Meiji period, a saber that served as a predecessor to the present police baton, and the evolution of police uniforms.
