Japan wins sixth combined group gold at World Judo Championships

Japan has overwhelmed France within the World Judo Championships to win its sixth straight combined group title.

The competitors by groups made up of six athletes every was held on Sunday, the ultimate day of the championships in Qatar.

France had defeated Japan within the combined group occasion within the Tokyo Olympics two years in the past.

Hashimoto Soichi, who received bronze within the males’s 73-kilogram class within the championships, and girls’s 70-kilogram class winner Niizoe Saki each misplaced within the first two bouts.

Japan finally received two matches, however France was main after 5 bouts.

In the sixth match, girls’s 57-kilogram class silver medalist Funakubo Haruka allowed her opponent to attain, however finally received by ippon.

With each groups having received three bouts every, the golden rating rule was utilized for a seventh match.
