Aso Taro, vp of Japan’s fundamental ruling Liberal Democratic Party, has laid flowers on the grave of the previous Taiwan President Lee Teng-hui, who fostered shut ties with Japan.

Aso, who previously served as Japan’s prime minister, arrived in Taiwan on Monday for a three-day go to.
