Japan will decrease the statutory velocity restrict on sure residential roads from 60 kilometers per hour to 30 km/h from September 1, with police in Hyogo Prefecture urging drivers to familiarize themselves with the brand new guidelines and drive extra rigorously in neighborhood areas.
Ahead of the change, Hyogo Prefectural Police and others distributed leaflets exterior JR Kakogawa Station informing motorists and pedestrians in regards to the decrease statutory velocity restrict.
Under the revised Road Traffic Act taking impact on September 1, the statutory restrict on so-called residential roads with out heart strains or related street markings can be lowered from 60 km/h to 30 km/h.
“We hope drivers will slow down on residential roads and help create communities without traffic accidents,” stated Kazuhito Yoshida, an assistant police inspector on the Kakogawa Police Station of Hyogo Prefectural Police.
Hyogo Prefectural Police plans to conduct consciousness campaigns throughout the prefecture on August 31 and September 1, calling consideration to the decrease velocity restrict and urging motorists to observe safe-driving practices.
