A Japan Airlines flight attendant suffered a damaged rib after sudden turbulence shook an plane throughout its descent to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, prompting authorities to analyze the incident as an aviation accident.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and Japan Airlines, JAL Flight 672 from Oita Airport was descending towards Haneda on the afternoon of July 21 when the plane all of a sudden shook.
A flight attendant in her 50s who was standing and dealing close to the rear of the cabin fell through the turbulence and fractured a rib on her left aspect, an harm categorised as severe.
The seat belt signal was off on the time of the incident.
No different passengers or crew members had been injured.
The Japan Transport Safety Board plans to analyze the incident as an aviation accident.
