Atsushi Sato (41), a bookstore clerk from Sendai City, who gained the Akutagawa Prize for his guide “Family in the Wasteland”, which is predicated on the theme of the Great East Japan Earthquake. The predominant character, whose work instruments have been stolen by the tsunami, misplaced his spouse to sickness two years after the catastrophe, and struggled to rebuild his life with a way of loss.
