In response to the problem of potential tuition hikes at a number of nationwide universities, together with the University of Tokyo, college students have staged protests and submitted a petition to the federal government expressing their sturdy opposition.

Students of the University of Tokyo mentioned, ‘As the one ones who can at the moment increase our voices, we should sincerely deal with the schooling hike situation, contemplating future college students. We are firmly against tuition hikes that unfairly distort college students’ profession decisions.’

The college students held a press convention on the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, warning that if tuition hikes are carried out on the University of Tokyo, it may have a ripple impact on different universities.

A survey carried out on campus revealed that over 90% of respondents opposed the schooling will increase.

Additionally, a gathering of nationwide college college students and college was held on the House of Representatives Office Building, the place they submitted a petition to the federal government requesting a rise in operational grants.

University of Tokyo President Teruo Fujii plans to carry a dialogue with college students on the twenty first, stating, ‘We will hearken to opinions from each inside and outdoors the college and punctiliously assess the scenario.’
