Ibaraki cops nab man suspected in stabbing of 6 pedestrians in Mito – TokyoReporter

IBARAKI (TR) – Ibaraki Prefectural Police arrested a 48-year-old man after he allegedly went on a stabbing rampage that injured six individuals in Mito City, studies the Sankei Shimbun (July 29).

At round 6 p.m., Hirokazu Shiobara, of no recognized occupation, used a knife to assault passersby on a avenue behind a grocery store within the downtown space of Minamimachi space. He then stabbed individuals on a sidewalk alongside National Route 50 going through the grocery store.

All of the six female and male victims are aware. A 70-year-old man from Higashiyamato City, Tokyo and a male workplace employee, 65, from Mito City had been severely injured, police mentioned.

Police didn’t reveal whether or not Shiobara admits to allegations of tried homicide.

One witness informed Nippon News Network, “The sound of the police sirens was incredible. When I got out, there was a police line up, and when I got onto the main road, I saw a person lying on the ground, surrounded by police officers and being carried away on a stretcher.”
