Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], March 22 (ANI): To enhance ingesting water and sanitation companies in 5 cities of Himachal Pradesh, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Rs 817.12 crore mission has been signed by the State Government with the French Development Agency Agence Francaise de Developpment (AFD).
The MoU was signed within the presence of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri by the Secretary Jal Shakti Vibhag Amitabh Awasthi on behalf of the State Government and nation Director AFD Bruno Bosle on behalf of French Development Agency.
The goal of the mission is to develop higher sewerage amenities in 5 cities of the state viz. Manali, Bilaspur, Palampur, Nahan and Karsog and to enhance ingesting water provide in Manali and Palampur cities.
Under the mission, Rs 612 crore could be offered by AFD, whereas the State Government would offer Rs. 204.85 crore, stated the Chief Minister.
The beneficiaries of the mission would obtain home service connections in these 5 cities and the sewerage remedy plant could be designed with cutting-edge applied sciences in order that the effluent might be reused for agricultural and industrial functions, he added.
The mission goals to enhance the environmental situation of water sources, scale back water-borne ailments, handle high quality sanitation amenities in accordance with native laws and worldwide greatest practices and produce monetary sustainability to the ingesting water and sanitation sector, he added.
Out of Rs 425.85 crore within the first part, Rs 340 crore could be financed by AFD and within the second part AFD would offer Rs. 272 crore out of a complete mission value of Rs 371 crore, stated Sukhu. The implementation interval of the mission was three years and Phase-II will start after 18 months from the graduation of Phase-I, he added.
“The State Government is committed to provide the best sanitation facilities and quality drinking water to the people of the State and this project would go a long way in achieving this goal” stated the Chief Minister.
