The NHK Party member of the House of Councilors Garthy has never attended the Diet since he was first elected in last year’s election, saying he is staying in the UAE = United Arab Emirates.
The Speaker of the House of Councilors Otsuji issued a written “invitation” based on the Diet Law to Rep. Garthy, requesting his attendance. I have referred it to the committee.
According to the House of Councillors, this is the first time that an “invitation” has been issued and the case has been referred to the Disciplinary Committee.
