TOKYO, Jul 06 (News On Japan) –
Hitachi Zosen has introduced that its subsidiaries, Hitachi Zosen Marine Engine and Aimex, falsified gas effectivity information for ship engines. The tampering concerned 1,364 engines shipped since September 1999, with information altered to reduce discrepancies.
In response, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has requested 19 different ship engine producers to analyze and report any related irregularities.
