New Delhi [India], July 8 (ANI): The harbour section of the continuing Japan-India Maritime Exercise 2023 (JIMEX 23), which included numerous joint actions and fruitful engagements between the 2 navies, concluded on July 7, the Indian Navy saidHowever, models from Indian Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) are engaged within the Sea Phase which is now being performed within the Bay of Bengal. The two navies will collectively hone their warfighting expertise at sea and improve their interoperability by complicated multi-discipline operations within the floor, sub-surfaceair domains, the Indian Navy mentioned.
“The Harbour Phase of the ongoing JIMEX23 which encompassed various joint activitiesfruitful engagements b/n the two navies concluded on 07Jul 23. Units from IndianNavyJMSDF are engaged in the Sea Phase which is now underway in the BayofBengal,” a spokesperson of the Indian Navy mentioned in a tweet.

This version marks the eleventh anniversary of JIMEX, since its inception in 2012, the Ministry of Defence mentioned in a press launch.
Japan Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) models below the command of Rear Admiral Nishiyama Takahiro, Commander Escort Flotilla One, and Indian Naval ships below the command of Rear Admiral Gurcharan Singh, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet are collaborating within the train.
The Ministry of Defence within the press launch mentioned, “JIMEX 23 will witness the participation of INS Delhi, India’s first indigenously built Guided Missile Destroyer, INS Kamorta, an indigenously designed and built Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvette, fleet tanker INS Shakti, a submarine, maritime patrol aircraft P8I and Dornier, ship-borne helicopters and fighter aircraft. JMSDF will be represented by the guided missile destroyer JS Samidare and its integral helicopters.”The Ministry of Defence famous that the Harbour section includes skilled, sports activities and social interactions.
