Koga City in Fukuoka Prefecture has introduced that the “osechi” New Year’s meal bins shipped as rewards for hometown tax donations violated nationwide requirements for native merchandise.
The problem concerned 4 forms of “osechi” meals produced by Kasuya Town’s meals manufacturing firm, Hisamatsu, not in Koga City however on the firm’s major manufacturing unit in Kasuya Town, thus breaching the rules for native merchandise.
The whole donations affected numbered 1,083, amounting to roughly 41.6 million yen.
Koga City has requested Hisamatsu to halt all reward shipments and can provide refunds to donors.
