TOKYO, Nov 02 (News On Japan) –
The recipients of this autumn’s Medals of Honor have been introduced, with movie director Junji Sakamoto, identified for works equivalent to ‘A Chorus of Angels,’ acquired the Medal with Purple Ribbon, which acknowledges excellent contributions to the fields of artwork, tradition, and sports activities.
Set in a distant island in Hokkaido, ‘A Chorus of Angels’ follows a former elementary faculty trainer, portrayed by Sayuri Yoshinaga, who reunites together with her six former college students after a few years. The gathering brings again reminiscences of a tragic incident that occurred throughout their childhood — an occasion that shattered their close-knit classroom and compelled the trainer to depart the island.
As the group reconnects, long-buried secrets and techniques steadily resurface, revealing the emotional scars and guilt every of them has carried. Through their encounters, the movie explores themes of forgiveness, reminiscence, and redemption towards the backdrop of Hokkaido’s rugged, wintry panorama.
Meanwhile, Yokoyama, who has recorded 2,989 wins over his 40-year profession—rating second in Japan’s racing historical past—and contributed to the event of the Japan Racing Association, was awarded the Medal with Yellow Ribbon, given to people who’ve devoted their lives to their occupation.
This autumn, a complete of 738 people and 24 organizations acquired Medals of Honor.
