Professor Takashi Komura of the Earthquake Research Institute of the University of Tokyo mentioned, “From the location and depth of the earthquake, it seems that this earthquake occurred within the Pacific plate. Although it occurred at a relatively deep place, it was close to the land. It is believed that the strong tremors with a seismic intensity of less than 5 were caused by the earthquake,” he mentioned.
