Driver rescued from Nara landslide, extra feared trapped in rubble

NARA, Dec 24 (News On Japan) –
Search efforts have been suspended at a landslide in Nara Prefecture, which has reportedly trapped a number of automobiles, as a result of danger of additional collapse.

The landslide coated a piece of National Route 169 in Shimokitayama Village with particles extending about 5 meters excessive and 30 meters huge, utterly blocking the highway.

White smoke could be seen rising from close to the middle of the particles.

A small truck with a 53-year-old male driver who was trapped within the rubble was rescued after seven hours.
