Dodgy tutoring college proprietor arrested for fraud

OSAKA, Nov 12 (News On Japan) –
A 48-year-old man who runs a tutoring college in Osaka has been arrested and charged for swindling 8.5 million yen in money from a scholar’s mom beneath the pretext of funding funds.

The accused scammer advised the mom of a kid attending the college that, “investment is needed to incorporate the group,” deceived her out of 8.52 million yen in December, 2021.

The mom reported the fraud, with the accused admitting throughout questioning after his arrest that he used the cash for playing.

The con artist can also be suspected of getting swindled over 100 million yen from about 20 different dad and mom and coaches of the soccer college he runs, by claiming he wanted cash for “legal defense costs” and “tax measures.” The police are persevering with their investigation.
