China safe blended doubles title in Asiad desk tennis

HANGZHOU, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) — Chinese paddlers booked the 2 ultimate spots of blended doubles on Friday to safe the title within the desk tennis match on the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Top seeded blended pair Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha knocked down Lim Jonghoon and Shin Yubin from South Korea 4-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-8, 11-8) within the semifinals, whereas Lin Gaoyuan and Wang Yidi booked the opposite ultimate spot by beating one other South Korean pair Jang Woojin and Jeon Jihee 4-1 (11-9, 11-4, 8-11, 11-6, 11-7).

In the lads’s singles spherical of 16, Chinese paddlers Fan Zhendong and Wang Chuqin, the highest two seeds on the occasion, smashed their opponents 3-0 respectively to enter the quarterfinals, and Japan’s Tomokazu Harimoto superior to the quarterfinals after beating Iranian “Backhand Man” Noshad Alamiyan Darounkolaei 4-2 (11-9, 12-10, 11-8, 5-11, 10-12, 12-10).
