Calif. police commander dies whereas on coaching journey

OXNARD, Calif. — The Oxnard Police Department is mourning the sudden lack of Commander Scott Aaron, who died whereas attending a coaching project in Orange County, KTLA reported.

Aaron, a 21-year veteran of the division, was found deceased in his resort room round 9:20 a.m. on Jan. 10 after failing to report back to coaching. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department carried out a welfare verify, which led to the invention.

While the reason for loss of life has not but been decided, officers mentioned no foul play is suspected, and the loss of life is probably going as a consequence of pure causes, in accordance with the report.

The division launched an announcement expressing “tremendous heartbreak and sadness” over the loss. Aaron had lately been promoted to commander and had served in quite a few roles, together with patrol officer, visitors officer, discipline coaching officer, Major Crimes sergeant and patrol watch commander.

Prior to his legislation enforcement profession, Aaron served within the U.S. Marine Corps, together with assignments with the Security Force Company in Yorktown, Virginia, and the first Battalion, seventh Marines in Twentynine Palms.

He started his policing profession in 1996 with the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office in Virginia and joined the Oxnard PD in November 2004 after returning to California.

“Scott served our department and community with the utmost dedication, compassion, and professionalism. He was a very hard-working and talented officer – an example for others to follow,” mentioned Oxnard Police Department Chief Jason Benites. “If we needed something handled, and handled with excellence, we called on Scott. He loved Oxnard, he was proud of his service, and he was a dedicated husband and father. He will be remembered fondly with love and respect.”

Aaron is survived by his spouse, daughter, son, mom and grandson.
