Brunei information 41.7-pct complete commerce drop in June 2023

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) — Brunei recorded 1,815.6 million Brunei {dollars} (1,325.4 million U.S. {dollars}) complete commerce in June 2023, a 41.7 % year-on-year lower resulting from a drop in each export and import worth.

The newest International Merchandise Trade Statistics launched on Wednesday by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics on the Ministry of Finance and Economy confirmed that Brunei’s exports in June decreased by 49.9 % yearly to 899.0 million Brunei {dollars}, which was primarily because of the drop in exports of mineral fuels and chemical substances.

Imports additionally decreased by 30.6 % to 916.6 million Brunei {dollars} in June 2023.

The highest share of exports in June 2023 went to China (35.0 %), adopted by Australia (23.9 %), Singapore (16.3 %) and Japan (9.8 %).

The greatest import associate was Malaysia accounting for 22.3 %, adopted by Australia (14.7 %), Kazakhstan (12.1 %), Qatar (11.9 %) and China (8.6 %). (1 Brunei dollar equals about 0.73 U.S. {dollars}).
