BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, April 28 (Xinhua) — Brunei recorded 704.2 million Brunei {dollars} (527.6 million U.S. {dollars}) commerce steadiness for January 2023, a 108.2 % year-on-year improve contributed by an increase in export and a drop in import worth.
Brunei’s exports in January elevated by 20.8 % yearly to 1,586.6 million Brunei {dollars}, primarily as a result of improve in mineral fuels exports, confirmed statistics launched on Friday by the Ministry of Finance and Economy.
Imports decreased from 974.6 million Brunei {dollars} in January 2022 to 882.4 million Brunei {dollars} in January 2023, primarily as a consequence of a lower in imports of mineral fuels.
The highest share of exports in January 2023 went to Japan (26.0 %), adopted by Australia (16.9 %), Singapore (14.9 %) and China (10.2 %).
The greatest import accomplice was Malaysia (25.2 %), adopted by the United Arab Emirates (16.9 %) and China (14.2 %), with mineral fuels as the biggest import commodity. (1 Brunei dollar equals about 0.75 U.S. dollar).
