BJP’s Ramchander Rao as Telangana-Andhra CMs to satisfy Jal Shakti Minister over water situation

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 16 (ANI): Amid the rising tensions over the water situation between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Chief Ministers of the 2 neighbouring states are set to satisfy Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil in Delhi on Wednesday.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief N Ramchander Rao mentioned that it was transfer by the centre since it will assist resolve the water situation amicably.

He said that the earlier Telangana authorities accepted unjust water-sharing ratios, initially agreeing to a 299:512 TMC system in 2015 and later to a 34:66 ratio in 2017-18, which remained in impact till 2020. He alleged that the BRS authorities even wrote to KRMB stating that the 34:66 system ought to proceed ‘since no different foundation exists’. (ANI)
