Yayoi Kusama, the internationally acclaimed avant-garde artist recognized for work and sculptures crammed with endlessly repeating polka dots and nets, died on August 14, 2026, on the age of 97.
Kusama achieved worldwide recognition and recognition via her distinctive creative fashion, creating works that evoke a way of infinity via repeated patterns of dots and mesh-like types.
During her lifetime, Kusama spoke in regards to the deep love she poured into her artwork and expressed a want that her work would proceed to be cherished even after her demise, saying, “Please love my art even after I die.”
