Albertsons’ New Ad Format Tries to Solve a Major Challenge in Retail Media

Albertsons is providing a manner for manufacturers to rapidly find yourself in ecommerce purchasing carts.

The grocer is rolling out a beta program for a brand new offsite advert format referred to as “Add-It” that lets shoppers add the merchandise promoted to a purchasing cart. The advert copy reads “save to cart,” and clicking on the unit drops the product into an internet purchasing cart from an Albertsons-owned retailer, together with Safeway, Albertsons Market, and ACME Market.

The advertisements don’t redirect shoppers to these web sites, in order to not disrupt the offsite expertise, Evan Hovorka, vp of product innovation at Albertsons Media Collective, informed ADWEEK.
