A stage adaptation of the Japanese animated movie “My Neighbour Totoro” has gained six prizes on the Olivier Awards, Britain’s most prestigious theater honor.
The Royal Shakespeare Company carried out the play at a London theater between October 2022 and January, primarily based on a movie by Japanese anime big Miyazaki Hayao.
The stage adaptation on Sunday gained in six classes: finest leisure or comedy play, finest director, costume design, sound design, set design, and lighting design. It had been nominated in 9 classes.
Nakano Kimie, a Japanese designer, gained the perfect costume design award.
British playwright Tom Morton-Smith tailored the movie for the stage.
