MANILA – The governments of the Philippines and Japan have signed a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) to strengthen cooperation and growth within the discipline of knowledge and communications expertise (ICT), notably to spice up broadband infrastructure and cybersecurity.
In an announcement on Wednesday, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) stated the MOC, signed between the DICT and Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) on Feb. 9, would enable for cooperation within the enchancment of broadband infrastructure within the Philippines, the diversification of 5G suppliers and growth of the 5G community, and the event of capacity-building packages for cybersecurity.
“Further, the MOC will strengthen the cooperation of the two countries for the smooth transition to Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting and for the utilization of the Emergency Warning Broadcasting System in the Philippines,” the DICT stated.
It would reinforce earlier areas of cooperation on digital transformation, massive information and synthetic intelligence, the Internet of issues, and cultural relationships by means of broadcasting content material.
