Catalog House Pulls Out of Rakuten Over Military Drone Partnership

Catalog House, the operator of buying catalog journal Tsuhan Seikatsu, has introduced it’ll cease promoting by way of Rakuten Market in protest over Rakuten Group’s partnership with a German navy drone firm and its plans to assist the introduction of the drones to Japan’s Ground Self-Defense Force.

The firm plans to conduct demonstration assessments of the drones by the top of September, whereas Rakuten has mentioned it intends to assist their introduction to the Ground Self-Defense Force. Domestic mass manufacturing can also be reportedly into account.

Catalog House mentioned the initiative conflicts with the rules behind Tsuhan Seikatsu, which embody a dedication to “upholding the pledge of nonwar entrusted to Article 9 of the Constitution.”
