FUKUOKA, May 11 (News On Japan) –
Thick black smoke billowed throughout an expressway in Fukuoka on May eleventh after a fireplace broke out beneath an elevated part of the highway, quickly blocking visibility for drivers and forcing a partial highway closure.
Video from the scene confirmed dense smoke rising from under the freeway and drifting throughout the roadway above, obscuring automobiles together with a tanker truck only a few meters forward.
One driver mentioned, “I can hardly see ahead at all. I really can’t see anything in front of me.”
The fireplace created extremely harmful driving circumstances as smoke unfold immediately onto the elevated roadway.
According to firefighters and police, piles of tires and bicycles saved beneath the overpass caught fireplace. Witnesses described the blaze as intense, with thick smoke pouring into the sky as a result of burning tires.
An individual who reported the incident mentioned, “It was incredible. Because the tires were burning, the smoke was enormous. (Q: Was there any nearby source of fire?) No, none.”
The fireplace was extinguished about an hour later, although a part of the expressway was quickly closed to site visitors.
No accidents have been reported.
Police and fireplace authorities are investigating the reason for the fireplace.
