Man not indicted over alleged extortion of voyeur photographer – TokyoReporter

TOKYO (TR) – Prosecutors introduced earlier this month introduced the non-prosecution of a 22-year-old man accused of extorting a male college pupil for taking illicit pictures final yr.

The photographer, nevertheless, was indicted within the case, stories Nippon News Network (Feb. 18).

On May 16, Kotaro Himeki, of no recognized occupation, allegedly demanded cash from the college pupil after he took tosatsu (voyeur) footage up the skirt of a girl on an escalator at JR Ikebukuro Station in Toshima Ward.

“You know what you did, don’t you? Your parents will be in trouble too. Show me your bank account,” the suspect instructed the sufferer in extorting 100,000 yen from him.

Upon his arrest on suspicion of blackmail, Himeki denied the allegations. He instructed the Shibuya Police Station, “I have no recollection of doing so.”

On February 18, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office introduced the non-indictment of  Himeki. Prosecutors didn’t reveal the rationale for the choice.

However, the photographer was summarily indicted that very same day for taking illicit pictures of the lady.
