U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar superior in late buying and selling on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the buck towards six main friends, gained 0.39 % to 108.037 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York buying and selling, the euro dropped to 1.0412 U.S. {dollars} from 1.0445 {dollars} within the earlier session, and the British pound declined to 1.2535 {dollars} from 1.2599 {dollars} within the earlier session.

The U.S. dollar purchased 157.10 Japanese yen, greater than 156.00 Japanese yen of the earlier session. The U.S. dollar rose to 0.8985 Swiss francs from 0.8918 Swiss francs, and it elevated to 1.4372 Canadian {dollars} from 1.4353 Canadian {dollars}. The U.S. dollar climbed to 11.0322 Swedish Kronor from 11.0087 Swedish Kronor.
