Osaka Metro and SkyDrive have introduced plans to launch passenger operations of “flying cars” within the Morinomiya space of Osaka City by 2028.
Flying vehicles shall be developed by a partnership between Osaka Metro, which is able to set up takeoff and touchdown websites, and SkyDrive, a enterprise agency chargeable for creating the plane. The corporations goal to conduct unmanned demonstration flights throughout subsequent 12 months’s Osaka-Kansai Expo.
On December seventeenth, the 2 corporations revealed plans for a post-Expo route connecting 4 key areas: Shin-Osaka/Umeda, Morinomiya, Tennoji/Abeno, and the Bay Area. This idea has been dubbed the “Osaka Diamond Route Initiative.”
Passenger providers are anticipated to start within the Morinomiya space by 2028, with operations increasing to hyperlink all 4 areas after 2030.
