A girl approached a police field at round 2:30 PM in Kawaguchi City, claiming, “My bag was snatched while I was riding my bicycle.”
The lady had her shoulder bag, containing roughly 30,000 yen in money, stolen from her entrance basket as a motorbike swooped previous, thankfully not inflicting any accidents.
Approximately an hour and a half later, one other incident occurred on a road within the adjoining metropolis of Saitama. Thirty minutes later, one other snatch-and-grab befell on a road in Kawaguchi City, adopted by one more incident on a Kawaguchi City road simply ten minutes after that.
In all these circumstances, the victims have been girls, and the perpetrator, carrying a full-face helmet and driving a black scooter-like bike, snatched baggage from the entrance baskets of their bicycles.
The police are treating these 4 consecutive incidents that occurred inside a two-hour span as a collection of snatch-and-grab circumstances by the identical suspect, given the similarities of their modus operandi.
Furthermore, in June, there have been two comparable snatch-and-grab incidents involving a black bike within the neighborhood of Kawaguchi City, and the police are investigating potential hyperlinks between these circumstances.
