FUKUOKA, Japan, July 30 (Xinhua) — Tunisia’s Ahmed Hafnaoui claimed his second gold medal on the World Aquatics Championships as he added the 1,500m freestyle title to his 800m victory on Sunday.
The 21-year-old, the Tokyo Olympic champion in 400m freestyle, completed the longest indoor race in an African file of 14 minutes and 31.54 seconds.
The time can be the quickest file in world championships historical past.
Bobby Finke of the United States, the double Olympic champion in 800m and 1,500m, completed second in 14:31.59, which is an American file.
The 400m freestyle gold winner Samuel Short of Australia positioned third in 14:37.28.
