5.6-magnitude quake jolts Japan's Kozushima Village: JMA

TOKYO, May 14 (Xinhua) — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.6 struck Kozushima Village in Japan, the climate company mentioned on Sunday.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the temblor occurred at 5:12 p.m. native time (0812 GMT) at a depth of 10 km, measuring 3 on Japan’s seismic depth scale which peaks at 7.

The temblor’s epicenter was positioned within the adjoining sea of Hachijojima Island at a latitude of 33.4 levels north and a longitude of 139.3 levels east.

No tsunami warning has been issued.
