TOKYO, May 14 (Xinhua) — Earthquakes with a preliminary magnitude of as much as 5.9 struck Japanese islands together with Kozushima on Sunday, in response to the climate company.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the temblor, measuring 3 on Japan’s seismic depth scale which peaks at 7, occurred at 5:12 p.m. native time (0812 GMT) at a depth of 10 km.
The temblor’s epicenter was situated within the adjoining sea of Hachijojima Island at a latitude of 33.4 levels north and a longitude of 139.3 levels east.
As of 8:30 p.m. native time, a number of quakes have been noticed later within the day across the epicenter, together with a 5.9-magnitude temblor which measured 2 on the depth scale, JMA reviews confirmed.
The JMA has warned the general public to remain alert. It has not issued a tsunami warning. No accidents have been reported thus far.
