12 years after the Great East Japan Earthquake Experience of rescue actions for younger firefighters Sendai | NHK

Before the twelfth anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake, a coaching session was held for the employees of the Sendai City Fire Department, who have been concerned in rescue actions, to convey their experiences on the time to younger employees members.

Among them, Michihiko Sugawara, who belonged to the catastrophe prevention air corps, stated, “When I saw the helicopter being washed away, I didn’t know what to do. If I had a helicopter, I could have saved my life. I regretted that I didn’t,” he stated, expressing his unchanging complicated emotions.
