1 killed, 2 injured in I-25 crashes in southern Colorado

One particular person was killed and two extra had been injured in two crashes that occurred minutes aside on southbound Interstate 25 close to Walsenburg on Friday morning, in keeping with the Colorado State Patrol.

The first crash occurred at 7:32 a.m. about 10 miles south of Walsenburg in Huerfano County when a field truck rear-ended a semitruck as visitors slowed down due to solar glare. The field truck driver was airlifted to the hospital with reasonable accidents, state officers mentioned.

Minutes later, the driving force of a Ford F250 rear-ended a Hyundai Elantra after which rolled and slid into the rear of Hyundai Sonata. The Elantra was pushed throughout the freeway into northbound lanes in the course of the crash.

The F250 driver, a 46-year-old man, died on the scene. The Elantra driver was taken to the hospital with unknown accidents, the state patrol mentioned.

I-25 was closed in each instructions till 9:12 a.m. due to the crashes, and southbound I-25 will probably be closed at exit 41 for Rugby Road for a number of hours for the investigation, officers mentioned. Traffic was being detoured at exit 41.
