Grand sumo yokozuna Terunofuji can be closed from the sixteenth, the seventh day of the spring match.
Terunofuji returned to the match for the primary time in three tournaments and gained the match, aiming for his tenth championship on the spring match, however was defeated by Komusubi and Nishikigi on the primary day.
Furthermore, from the fourth day onwards, he conceded gold for 3 consecutive days for the primary time since being promoted to yokozuna, and by the sixth day he had suffered 4 losses.
This is the twentieth time Terunofuji has been closed since final 12 months’s Kyushu match, and the ninth time within the 16 tournaments he has held as a yokozuna.
