Yamanashi Gakuin beat Hotoku Gakuen 7-3 within the ultimate of the ninety fifth highschool invitational baseball event Saturday at Koshien Stadium behind a whole sport from ace Kengo Hayashi, claiming a first-ever nationwide championship for Yamanashi Prefecture.
The right-hander began all six of his workforce’s video games on the first of two annual highschool championships on the historic ballpark close to Osaka. Saturday’s win was Hayashi’s fourth complete-game victory of the event. He threw 696 pitches over a span of 15 days.
