HANOI, April 19 (Xinhua) — Vietnam reported 13,500 new COVID-19 instances on Tuesday, up 1,489 from Monday, in response to its Ministry of Health.

The Vietnamese capital Hanoi remained the epidemic hotspot with 1,022 new instances on Tuesday, adopted by the northern provinces of Phu Tho with 838 and Yen Bai with 605.

The infections introduced the overall tally to 10,489,319 with 42,975 deaths. Nationwide, as many as 9,065,694 COVID-19 sufferers, or 86 p.c of the infections, have thus far recovered.
