[Video]Fukuoka Asakura Oita Expressway Sediment blocks tunnel entrance | NHK

Due to the heavy rain, the slope of the mountain collapsed and the doorway to the tunnel of the Oita Expressway in Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture collapsed, blocking the doorway with earth and sand. I’m right here.

An NHK helicopter shot the Takayama Tunnel on the Oita Expressway in Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture on the morning of the eleventh.

You can see how the slope of the mountain the place the tunnel is situated collapsed as if it had been scraped off, and a considerable amount of earth and sand and fallen timber flowed towards the doorway.

The entrance to the tunnel is barely recognizable, and is usually blocked by sediment.

According to NEXCO West Japan, as a consequence of this, the Oita Expressway has been closed to site visitors between the Amagi Interchange and the Kusu Interchange, and there’s no prospect of restoration.
