The United States, set to take part in subsequent 12 months’s Osaka-Kansai Expo, unveiled the design of its pavilion on January 31, aiming to create an area that envisions the longer term with a stage for having fun with American cultural occasions.
On January 31, on the U.S. Ambassador’s residence in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Ambassador Rahm Emanuel and the pavilion’s architect revealed the design for the American pavilion to be constructed on the Osaka-Kansai Expo venue. The pavilion’s design is geometric, that includes a cube-shaped constructing set between two triangular buildings, impressed by the Japanese aesthetic of “wabi-sabi.” It will embody two giant screens showcasing American city and pure landscapes, and a courtyard with a stage for having fun with American music, amongst different sights.
The theme of the pavilion is “Imagine What We Can Create Together,” aiming to be a spot that envisions a future advancing human knowledge. Architect Trey Trahan commented, “I want to collaborate to create a place where people from all over the world can gather and find common ground.” The building price is estimated at 25 million {dollars}, roughly 3.7 billion yen, and in line with the U.S. Embassy, building will start this spring.
