Tosatsu hunter: Tokyo man suspected of extorting voyeur photographers – TokyoReporter

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 22-year-old man who’s suspected of repeatedly extorting photographers who take voyeur pictures of ladies, studies NHK (Feb. 2).

On May 16, Kotaro Himeki, of no identified occupation, allegedly demanded cash from a college pupil after he took tosatsu (voyeur) footage up the skirt of a lady on an escalator at JR Ikebukuro Station in Toshima Ward.

“You know what you did, don’t you? Your parents will be in trouble too. Show me your bank account,” the suspect advised the sufferer in extorting 100,000 yen from him.

Upon his arrest on suspicion of blackmail, Himeki denied the allegations. He advised the Shibuya Police Station, “I have no recollection of doing so.”

Law enforcement calls perpetrators of this follow “Tosatsu Hunters,” a label derived from their penchant for swindling perverts who take illicit pictures of ladies.

The arrest is the second for Himeki. On January 27, police accused him of violating the Law Banning the Taking of Sexually Explicit Photographs. Last June, he secretly filming a lady at a shopping mall in Shibuya Ward. An evaluation of his smartphone revealed a video of him threatening the male college pupil.

Based on smartphone data and different info, police are investigating the chance that the suspect might have used the identical methodology to extort greater than 20 million yen from different victims.
