Unseeded gamers had their day on the Jiangxi Open on Tuesday, with 4 of the highest six seeds falling in Nanchang, China, within the first spherical.

Nao Hibino of Japan eradicated No. 1 seed Beatriz Haddad Maia 7-6 (2), 6-3 of Brazil, whereas Valeria Savinykh of Russia topped No. 2 seed Magda Linette of Poland 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (3). German Laura Siegemund defeated home-country favourite Xinyu Wang, the No. 4 seed, 6-1, 7-5, and Xiaodi You of China cruised previous No. 5 seed Anna Blinkova of Russia 6-1, 6-1.

Also advancing had been No. 3 seed Marie Bouzkova and her fellow Czech, Katerina Siniakova. The No. 7 seed, France’s Varvara Gracheva, Leylah Fernandez of Canada and Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus additionally moved to the second spherical.
