TOKYO, Japan: Tokyo has lodged a protest in opposition to Russia over its determination to declare third September because the “Day of Victory over Militaristic Japan,” in line with Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno.
“The passage of this law could not only stir anti-Japanese sentiment among the Russian people but may also lead to anti-Russian sentiment among the Japanese people,” Matsuno instructed a press convention this week, calling Moscow’s transfer “extremely regrettable.”
Japanese media reported that final week, Russia renamed the commemoration day of Japan’s give up in World War Two.
