Former world report holder Ippei Watanabe received the 200-meter breaststroke males’s 200-meter breaststroke on the Tokyo Swimming Championships held in Koto-ku, Tokyo.

Watanabe stated, “The 200-meter breaststroke was the last race before the World Championships, so I’m glad I finished with a good time. I’ve been to the World Championships twice in the past and both won bronze medals, which is very frustrating. I want to prove my strength and win the gold medal,” he renewed his willpower.
